THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, SEPT. 20. Various student organisations have issued conflicting press statements claiming victory in the recently held college union elections in the district.

In a statement here today, the Students Federation of India (SFI) has claimed to have made major gains in college unions held earlier by the Kerala Students Union (KSU) and the Akhila Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP).

The SFI has claimed victory in St. Xavier's College (Thumpa), S.N. College (Chempazanthy), University College, Government Women's College, Mar Ivanious College, S.N. College (Varkala), Government College (Nedumangadu), Government Arts College, Sanskrit College, Kattakada Christian College, Ikbal College (Peringamala), Kariyavattom Government College and Attingal Government College.

The ABVP in turn has claimed total domination in the college union elections at VTH (Dhanavachapuram), M.G. College (Thiruvananthapuram), NSS College (Kottiyam), NSS College (Cherthala), Sree Ayyappa College (Thiruvandoor) and NSS College (Pandalam).
