What papers should BC hostellers read?
By Our Special Correspondent
CHENNAI, SEPT. 6. Which newspapers should students in state-run
backward class and most backward Classes hostels read?
The decision is apparently taken by the Government of the day.
An order dated August 21, 2001 issued to the hostels in the
Chennai district directs them to discontinue subscription to
TheHindu, Dinamani, and Murasoli and instead buy News Today,
Namathu MGR and Makkal Kural.
The order from the District BC and Minorities Welfare Officer,
asks the wardens to submit the purchase list by the fifth of
every month.
Two of the papers now chosen are eveningers.
