Unhealthy trend

Sir, - If the recent allegations of saffronisation of education and the administrative machinery by the BJP-led Government are true, it is not a healthy trend. But such unhealthy trends are also observed in West Bengal where CPI(M) supporters and workers are given preference over others. Leftists dominated Jawaharlal Nehru University and appointed to the faculty strong advocates of CPI(M)/CPI ideologies.

However, all such policies, whether saffronisation or Leftists' orientation of education and administration promoting organisational interest are disastrous for the nation and should be opposed by all rational thinking people.

What is important is elimination of corruption and poverty at all levels, building up of national character and work culture, reforms and fuller autonomy with greater accountability of all institutions, organisations and the Government.
