Veteran AIR news reader dead
NEW DELHI, AUG. 29. Former Hindi news reader of All India Radio,
Deoki Nandan Pandey(80), died in Mumbai yesterday. He is survived
by a son and a daughter.
He was admitted to a nursing home on Monday after a heart attack.
He died on Tuesday morning.
He joined AIR news division in 1948 and also acted in several
Doordarshan serials.
The Prime Minister, Mr. A.B. Vajpayee, and the Information and
Broadcasting Minister, Ms. Sushma Swaraj,today condoled the death
of Pandey.
