Tendulkar to go to S.A. for treatment
MUMBAI, AUG. 18. Sachin Tendulkar will leave next week for South
Africa for treatment to his injured right toe by leading
orthopaedic surgeon Mark Fergusson and the cricket board will
meet the expenses.
Sports medicine expert Dr. Anant Joshi said Tendulkar will leave
for Johannesburg on August 22 or 23 to also facilitate the making
of specially designed footwear that will cushion the injured toe.
Cricket board secretary Jaywant Lele, who revealed Tendulkar's
treatment plans here on Friday, expressed confidence that the
maestro would be fit for the tour of South Africa.
