Ayodhya issue,a threat to Vajpayee Govt: VHP
VARANASI, AUG. 18. The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) today declared
that it would go ahead with its plans to build a Ram temple in
Ayodhya from March next and said the issue could ``threaten the
life'' of the Vajpayee Government.
``The construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya will start as
scheduled around `Shivratri' in March 2002,'' the VHP
International general secretary, Mr. Pravin Bhai Togadia, told
reporters here. He said ``our main fight was with the Union
Government which has acquired the land in Ayodhya.''
``The appeasement policy of the Government as well as that of
different political parties was the main hurdle in the way of
construction of the Ram temple,'' he said.
`Don't hold talks with Pak.'
India should not hold any talks with Pakistan in future, Mr.
Togadia said and demanded military action against terrorist
training camps. ``In future, no talks should be held with
Pakistan,'' he said adding that the recent negotiations had given
a wrong message to the world that our Government was ``weak''.
``Without destroying the training centres or bases, whether in
the Indian territory or Pakistan, cross-border terrorism cannot
be checked.''
``The lack of will power on the part of the Government has
resulted in the loss of numerous human lives during the last 15
years,'' he said.
