By Our Staff Reporter
PONDICHERRY, AUG. 13. The Pondicherry Chief Secretary, Mr. T. T.
Joseph, has stressed the need for periodical training to the
government staff so that they would be in a position to discharge
their duties to the satisfaction of the public.
Inaugurating a six-day training programme for trainers conducted
by the New Delhi-based Institute of Secretariat Training and
Management here today, he said training was necessary to improve
the quality of governance and the skill of employees.
Mr. Joseph said the supervisory staff should get the work done by
their subordinates at the earliest time possible. The purpose of
the Citizens Charter would also be achieved through expeditious
disposal of grievances.
Mr. Khannaji, Joint Secretary to the Administration, said the
Institute's course personnel were Mr. M. C. Kasana, Mr. Chander
Mukherjee and Mr. Sedhu Ramalingam. It was a need-based training
programme organised by the administrative reforms wing of the
Pondicherry Government in collaboration with the Institute.
