Call for solidarity among TUs

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, AUG. 11. The AITUC State secretary,
Mr. C. Divakaran, has called for solidarity among trade unions,
irrespective of their political leanings.
Inaugurating the AITUC district conference at Indirajit Gupta
Nagar here this morning, Mr. Divakaran said the need of the hour
was to resist the fiscal policies of the Central Government.
He said the interests of the working class were being sacrificed
by the BJP Government which is toeing the economic line towed by
the World Trade Organisation.
Meanwhile, the AITUC has demanded that the State Government
withdraw the hike in power tariff.
