India loses again
MUMBAI, AUG. 9. India continued its dismal performance on the
third day, losing to Romania in the team World Cup of chess for
visually impaired being organised by the German Chess Federation
for blind at Dusseldorf, Germany, on Thursday.
The Indians repeated their yesterday's performance, losing three
of the four games of the day and drawing the fourth. They thus
have 1.5 points at the end of three rounds and 12 games and will
be content with 7th-12th place in the tournament.
Russia, who leads the Group `A', will be playing the fourth round
with the Indians on Friday while the countrymen will face Germans
in their last round. The event is being organised under the aegis
of International Braille Chess Association.
lThe results: Romania bt India (Swapnil Shah lost to Dacian
Pribeanu; Madan Bagayatkar drew with Mihai Irimia; Shirish Patil
lost to Alexandru Pirosca; Vasant Patil lost to Viorel Craciun).
