PMC recognised as State party
By Our Staff Reporter
PONDICHERRY, AUG. 9. The Puduchery Makkal Congress has been
recognised by the Election Commission as a State party.
Mr. K. Lakshminarayanan, PMC Legislature Party leader, said today
that he had received a communication from the Secretary to the
Election Commission informing him of the decision.
The party was formed in October last after a split in the TMC. It
contested in nine seats in the May 10 Assembly election and
emerged victorious in four.
The PMC is a constituent of the DMK-led NDA in the Union
Territory.
