I am no relation of stock broker, says Mehta
MUMBAI, AUG. 9. The chairman of the Securities and Exchange Board
of India (SEBI), Mr. D.R. Mehta, met the CBI director, Mr. P.C.
Sharma, in Delhi and clarified that he had no relation with the
stock broker, Mr. Rakesh Mehta, arrested by the agency in
connection with the Rs. 32-crore UTI investment in Cyberspace.
Mr. Mehta, who was in the thick of controversy over the reported
statement by the stock broker about his connection with the UTI-
Cyberspace controversy, denied having any connection or role in
the investment by the financial institution, sources said here.
