Diseases on the rise

BHUBANESWAR, JULY 30. The incidence of diarrhoea and other
diseases have increased alarmingly in the flood-hit districts of
Orissa. While the death toll has touched 96, more than 40 people
have died of diarrhoea, suspected malaria, jaundice and snake
bite so far.
The number of diarrhoea cases have increased to 23,456 by Monday.
Although the authorities are claiming that it has not assumed
epidemic proportions, 27 persons have died due to the disease.
