Indira Goswami selected for Jnanpith award
NEW DELHI, JULY 28. Noted Assamese writer, Ms. Indira Goswami,
has been selected for the Jnanpith award for her outstanding
contribution to the enrichment of Indian literature through her
creative writing.
The award carries a cash of Rs. 5 lakhs, a citation, plaque and a
bronze replica of Vagdevi. Ms. Goswami's selections of short
stories and a number of other works have been translated into
many languages.
