Harsh's campaign ends
NEW DELHI, JULY 21. Harsh Mankad lost 4-6, 6-3, 3-6 to the top-
seeded qualifier Matthew Breen of Australia in the pre-
quarterfinals of the $ 15,000 dollar ITF Futures tournament in
Joplin, Missouri.
Harsh had earlier beaten another qualifier Nicola Bruno of Italy
7-6 (9-7), 7-6 (7-2) in the first round. His effort fetched him
one ATP point and $ 300.
In doubles, Vikrand Chadha in partnership with Andrew Nisker of
Canada lost 4-6, 4-6 to Lee Radovanovich and James Shortall of
New Zealand in the quarterfinals. The fourth-seeded Indo-Canadian
pair, which collected $ 270 and one ATP point, had earlier beaten
wild card entrants Hamid Mirzadeh of the U.S. and Ken Veney of
Australia 3-6, 6-2, 6-1 in the first round.
The other Indians, including Harsh Mankad, had lost in the first
round of doubles earlier. In singles, only Harsh made the main
draw, while four others lost in the qualifying event.
