Nature knows best
MOTHER EARTH has something for everyone. It only depends on the
level of enterprise to reap the bounty, as in the case of
Ayurveda and the Himalaya Drug Company.
Better known as manufacturers of Liv.52 and Bonnisan, HDC is well
known as the company that also owns the popular portfolio of
health, body, hair and skin care range of products under the
brand name of Ayurvedic Concepts.
The company on Wednesday opened the fourth exclusive Ayurvedic
Concepts outlet in Chennai, at 71, N.S.C.Bose Road. The other
three are at Ashok Nagar, Triplicane and Anna Nagar.
In town for the opening, Mr.Soumitro Banerji, executive vice-
president, Himalaya Drug Company, pointed out, ``the one-stop-
shop for showcasing the entire range of products is not driven by
sales alone. Instead, the outlets are positioned as guidance
centres where customers could get clarifications for their
doubts''.
Reasoning about the popularity of the products, ``growing
awareness about the side-effects of using chemicals is making
more and more consumers to actively look for safe alternatives''.
Hence, the tilt is in favour of natural products.
What about the competition? ``There is no dearth of it, but we
have self-imposed stringent quality standards''.
