Cipla cuts anti-AIDS drug prices further

MUMBAI, JULY 13. Cipla has announced yet another cut in the price of its anti-AIDS drugs in the domestic market. The cut in prices average around 33 per cent and this is the fourth time Cipla has announced a cut in its prices for the domestic market in the last nine months with the last cut being announced in early May.

Consequently, Cipla's triple-drug therapy cocktail of Lamivudine, Stavudine and Nevirapine has come down from Rs. 3,495 to Rs. 2,130 per patient per month; a reduction of almost 40 per cent.

The price cut is effective from the beginning of this week and covers the whole basket of anti-AIDS drugs - Zidovudine, Stavudine, Lamivudine, Nevirapine, Didanosine and Indinavir.
