By Nirupama Subramanian
COLOMBO, JULY 10. Sri Lanka will release 23 of the 66 Indian
fishermen, arrested by its Navy over the last few months, on
Wednesday, officials said.
The fishermen and 11 boats will be handed over to the Indian Navy
in the waters between the two countries on Wednesday morning. The
fishermen have already been transferred from Jaffna prison to the
naval base at Kankesanthurai in the peninsula. There is no word
yet on when the remaining 43 fishermen will be released.
