Pay increase sought for health staff
By Our Staff Reporter
PONDICHERRY, JUNE 28. The Joint Action Committee of the Health
Field Staff today demanded that the Pondicherry Government
increase the wages of the staff as recommended by a special
committee.
Mr. K. Seetharaman, president, said the Centrally- sponsored
Assured Career Progression scheme should be made available to all
members of the health staff. The recruitment rules in respect of
health assistants, inspectors and technical assistants should be
revised and promotion should be based on seniority. The committee
would launch an agitation, if the Government failed to fulfill
the demands by July 15.
