No, decision was ours: India

NEW DELHI, JUNE 27. India today strongly refuted the Pakistan President, Gen. Pervez Musharraf's remarks that India was under tremendous pressure from the international community to invite him for the July summit.

``It is our decision to invite Gen. Musharraf for the summit. We don't buckle under any international pressure,'' a Foreign Ministry spokesperson said here. Reacting to Gen. Musharraf's remarks on Tuesday that activities of jehadi groups as well as pressure from the international community forced the Prime Minister, Mr. Atal Behari Vajpayee, to invite him for talks, she said, ``the decision to convene the summit was taken on our own assessment'' and there was no pressure and neither ``did we buckle under pressure.''
