Radhika Tulpule loses in pre-quarterfinals

NEW DELHI, JUNE 25. Seventh seed Radhika Tulpule crashed out in the pre-quarterfinals of the Credito Agricola Ladies Open tennis championship at Montemor in Portugal.

According to information received here, after just about managing to beat qualifier Cristina Arribas of Spain 6-0, 3-6, 7-6 (7-3) in the first round, Radhika met her match in local girl Frederica Piedade and lost 0-6, 3-6.

In the doubles semifinals of this $ 10,000 event, Radhika and her South African partner Natasha Van Der Merwe, seeded two, went down 2-6, 2-6 to the Irish pair of Yvonne Doyle and Karen Nugent, the eventual champion.
