Compulsory wait ends for IAS officers

CHENNAI, JUNE 25. After the mass transfer of IAS officials on
June 5, the AIADMK Government today provided postings for over 40
officers put on `wait'.
With these appointments, most IAS officers in the State, barring
a few former Collectors, including Mr. C. Umashankar, have been
given postings.
Significantly, the super-time scale IAS officers who held key
posts in the previous DMK regime, including former Public
Secretary, Mr. M. F. Farooqui, and the former PWD Secretary, Mr.
N. P. Gupta, have been shunted to what is normally termed as
insignificant posts.
Following are the official postings:
Mr. M. F. Farooqui, IAS, formerly Secretary, Public and
Rehabilitation, posted Commissioner and Director of Indian
Medicine and Homoeopathy.
Mrs. O. P. Sosamma, IAS, formerly Secretary, Small Industries
posted Special Commissioner and Commissioner of Land
Administration vice Mr.M.Abul Hassan posted Secretary, State
Human Rights Commission.
Mr. Ajay Bhattacharya, IAS, formerly Secretary, Housing and Urban
Development, posted Commissioner, Government Data Centre.
The services of Mrs. Susan Mathew, IAS, formerly Secretary,
Commercial Taxes, are placed at the disposal of Tamil Nadu Power
Finance and Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd. for
appointment as its Chairperson and Managing Director.
The services of Mr. N. P. Gupta, IAS, formerly Secretary, Public
Works department, are placed at the disposal of Tamil Nadu
Maritime Board, as its Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.
He will also function as Project Director, Tamil Nadu Road Sector
Project.
The services of Mr. L. K. Tripathy, IAS, formerly Secretary,
Health and Family Welfare, are placed at the disposal of Tamil
Nadu Industrial Explosives Ltd., for appointment as its Chairman
and Managing Director.
The services of Mr. S. Rajarethinam, IAS, formerly Secretary,
Environment and Forests, are placed at the disposal of Tamil Nadu
Small Industries Development Corporation for appointment as its
Managing Director.
Mr. N. Athimoolam, IAS, formerly Secretary, Agriculture, posted
Secretary, Backward Classes and Minorities.
Mr. M. Ramu, IAS, formerly Secretary, Information and Tourism
Department, posted Commissioner of Agriculture Income Tax.
Mr. S. Ramakrishnan, IAS, Secretary, Tamil Development-Culture
and Religious Endowments Department, posted as Member Secretary,
State Planning Commission, vice Mr.L.N. Vijayaraghavan, IAS,
posted Chairman and Managing Director, Tamil Nadu Minerals Ltd.
The services of Mr. R. Christodas Gandhi, IAS, formerly
Secretary, Social Reforms, are placed at the disposal of Tamil
Nadu State AIDS Control Society for appointment as its Project
Director.
The services of Mr. K. Dheenadayalan, IAS, Secretary, State Human
Rights Commission are placed at the disposal of Tamil Nadu Small
Industries Corporation Ltd. for appointment as its Chairman and
Managing Director.
Mr. P. Kolappan, IAS, formerly Secretary, Adi Dravidar Welfare
department, posted Commissioner of Civil Supplies and Consumer
Protection, vice Mr. Arun Ramanathan, IAS, posted Special
Commissioner and Commissioner of Commercial Taxes.
Mr. I. V. Manivannan, IAS, formerly Secretary, Higher Education
Department, posted Special Commissioner and Commissioner of
Rehabilitation.
Mr. K. Sampath Kumar, IAS, formerly Secretary, Personnel and
