Inquiry report within a week

By Our Special Correspondent

CHENNAI, JUNE 25. The sinking of one of the piers of the Kadalundi bridge, might be the reason for the derailment of the Mangalore-Chennai Mail near Kozhikode on Thursday, the Union Railway Minister, Mr. Nitish Kumar, said here today.

Talking to presspersons, the Minister said the accident was rather ``unfortunate'' as only two days ago officials conducted an inspection and found the bridge to be safe.
