3 held for circulating counterfeit currency

BANGALORE, JUNE 23. Sampangiramnagar police have arrested three persons, including two from Tamil Nadu, on charges of circulating counterfeit currency notes.

The names of the arrested were given as Alex Anbarsan (31), a resident of Banaswadi in the City, Thimmi Shetty (51) and Ramamurthy (48), both residents of Dharmapuri in Tamil Nadu.

The accused were apprehended while they were giving counterfeit currency notes of Rs. 100 denomination at a business establishment on Mission Road after buying a sim card for a mobile phone.

Police said that Manikyam of Dharmapuri, who used to supply the notes to Alex through Shetty and Ramamurthy, is absconding.

Pornographic CDs seized: Peenya police raided two shops at T.Dasarahalli and Chokkasandra and arrested three persons on charges of renting pornographic CDs. Police have seized 36 CDs of obscene films from them.

Recovered: Jagajeevanram Nagar police have recovered gold ornaments and electronic gadgets worth Rs. 1.10 lakhs by arresting Jameer, alias Ghoda (28), Aazam, alias Anees (19) and Imran, alias Irfan (19) on charges of theft.

The accused were allegedly involved in four thefts reported from Jagajeevanram Nagar Police Station limits.
