NEW DELHI, JUNE 20. The Government today announced that the Director of the National Institute of Management in Calcutta, Dr. Sujit K. Basu, would be the new Vice-Chancellor of Viswabharati University. This is the third Central University of the country to get a new Vice- Chancellor in as many weeks.

The appointment of Dr. Basu as Vice-Chancellor of Viswabharati University was made after the Visitor - the President, Mr. K. R. Narayanan - gave the nod to the search committee's nominee for the post.
