Quake in Guwahati
SHILLONG, JUNE 20. An earthquake of mild intensity shook Shillong
and Guwahati at 8:14 p.m. today, according to the Seismological
Observatory Centre here.
The mild tremor, which lasted only a few seconds, had the
magnitude 3.8 on Richter scale, the centre said quoting reports.
The epicentre of the quake was located at latitude 26.5 degree
north and longitude 91.7 degree east of Assam. There was no
report of loss of life or damage to property in any places,
official sources said.
