Jagannath Mishra meets Advani
NEW DELHI, JUNE 18. Former Bihar Chief Minister and senior NCP
leader, Mr. Jagannath Mishra, today met the Union Home Minister,
Mr. L.K. Advani, and told him that a negotiated settlement was
the only way out to resolve the Ram temple issue.
Mr. Mishra submitted a four-page memorandum to Mr. Advani in
which he suggested resumption of talks to find a solution. All
the constituents of the NDA Government should declare that the
construction of the temple at Ayodhya be kept in abeyance till
the conclusion of the talks, he said.
He also suggested that in case the two sides failed to reach a
settlement, the disputed site should neither have a temple nor a
mosque to prove that India was truly secular.
