Narayan and Ramayana
Sir, - Kudos to Mr. V. Gangadhar for his delectable write up on
R.K. Narayan's literary output (Sunday Magazine, May 27). Mr.
Graham Greene was first to shower encomium on R.K. Narayan. He
said that Narayan's English was amazingly simple, candid,
sparkling and exceptionally transparent.
He did a great service to Indian epics particularly to Ramayana
which won appreciation all over the English knowing world. His
contributions are in no way less than those of Valmiki and
Kamban.
G. Azeemoddin,
Anantpur (A.P.)
