Art exhibition attracts masses
By Our Staff Reporter
PONDICHERRY, MAY 26. An art exhibition, conducted by a batch of
students of the Atelier, run by Ms. Francine Callamand, an
officer of the French Foreign Affairs Ministry now working in the
Consulate General here, attracted a good number of admirers, at
the Alliance Francaise recently.
The young artists Aroul, A. Gnanamarie, A. Mari Bruno Gnana, M.
Jayaral, J. Vijayakar and V. Kumar, who had given vent to their
imagination in different forms of art pieces, were grateful to
Ms. Francine for the positive encouragement. She is an
experienced artist.
The French official said she was impressed by the aptitude on the
part of the students who had displayed their talents by bringing
out the pieces. One could come across a real expression of the
thought and imagination in the pieces which were on different
themes.
Mr. Mohammad Moustafa, representative of the French nationals in
the Superior Council of French Parliament, said the talents of
the artists had really impressed upon him and the team work with
which the pieces were brought out bore testimony to the bonds of
affect, respect and cultural exchange during the last three
years.
Those who appreciated the paintings included the new Director of
the Alliance Francaise, Mr. Alain Thomas, and the chairman of the
Management Committee of the institution.
