Decision on Pondy ministry today

By Our Special Correspondent

CHENNAI, MAY. 25. The Pondicherry Chief Minister, Mr. P. Shanmugham, will meet the Congress president, Mrs. Sonia Gandhi, tomorrow in Delhi, to finalise a AIADMK-inclusive Congress-led Ministry in the Union Territory.

``We will decide on the Ministry formation tomorrow,'' Mr. Shanmugham said, before he left for Delhi this evening.

Mr. Shanmugham held brief discussions with the AIADMK general secretary and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Ms. Jayalalitha, at her Poes Garden residence, before his departure for Delhi.

While the AIADMK had expressed its readiness to join the Congress-led Government in the Union Territory, Mr. Shanmugham said, he would consult Mrs. Gandhi and take a decision on the composition of his Ministry.

Earlier, he called on the TMC president, Mr. G.K. Moopanar, at the latter's residence.

Indications are that the AIADMK and the TMC would be given one Ministerial berth each, and three Congress MLAs will be inducted into the Cabinet.
