Seven-hour blackout in Vellore

VELLORE, MAY 20. The days of prolonged power shutdowns have begun in Vellore. The town went without power supply for nearly seven hours from 10 a.m. on Sunday.

Since Thursday, prolonged power shutdowns have become the order of the day, causing hardships to the general public who had to sweat it out without being able to operate fans at homes and offices, what with the day temperate shooting beyond 40 degrees Celsius. The power supply which was restored at 5 p.m. went off again at 7 p.m.
