6 injured in Gujarat building collapse
BHUJ, MAY 12. At least six passers-by were injured when a five-
storeyed building, rendered unsafe for occupation after the
January 26 killer quake, collapsed in Lal Tikri area here today.
The victims were passing through the area when the abandoned
building, came crashing down, official sources said.
The Home Secretary, Mr. K. Nityanandam, denied reports that some
people were trapped under the debris. The injured were yet to be
identified. The incident caused panic as people rushed out of th-
eir homes fearing another quake. The meteorological centre in
Ahmedabad said no tremors were recorded in Gujarat today.
