Tension in city following bomb attack
Kolkata, May 11. (PTI): Two Trinamool Congress supporters were
seriously injured in a post-poll violence in eastern city's Tanga
area when their motorcycle came under bomb attack allegedly by
CPI(M) activists today, police said.
The injured were admitted to hospital where the condition of one
was stated to be serious. RAF personnel were deployed in the area
along with armed policemen in view of simmering tension.
Meanwhile, Trinamool Congress today threatened to move the
National Human Rights Commission with complaints against the city
police for the drowning of party supporter Topi Das in the
eastern city's Beliaghata area during disturbances at the time of
Assembly polls yesterday.
TC sources alleged that the police beat him up mercilessly even
as Das pleaded for his life and sought police help to save him
from drowning in a lake in the area.
