Forgotten exam
It was a bright sunny day in the month of March. I was relaxed
and was mixing Rasna for my family when the telephone rang. My
dad called out that it was for me. I took it, thinking it would
be my friend. But, to my surprise it was my school teacher who
informed me that it was the first day of the final exam. I was
stunned for a moment and I gasped for breath. I just said "Yes
Mam" and put down the receiver. My dad and Mom were shouting at
me. I rushed to my room, got into my uniform, took my exam pad,
pen and hurried to school.
As I entered the examination hall, I felt so embarrassed, that I
had forgetten an important day. I was ashamed to look at my
teacher as she gave me the question paper. The students had
already finished answering half the paper. I said a short prayer
and started answering the question paper.
Even today when I think of it I shiver and now I make it a point
to check my timetable a week before the exam.
