New PCI formed

NEW DELHI, MAY 11. The Information and Broadcasting Minister, Ms. Sushma Swaraj, today announced the constitution of the new Press Council of India. A notification to this effect had already been issued, she told mediapersons at a press conference here. The term of the previous PCI, headed by Mr. Justice P. B. Sawant, expired on March 27. The name of the newly-constituted PCI chairman would be decided by the Government soon.
