Thangabalu sees anti-DMK wave
By Our Special Correspondent
TIRUCHI, MAY 8. A strong anti-DMK wave was clearly perceptible in
the State which would see the AIADMK led secular front in power
after the Assembly polls, said Mr. K.V. Thangabalu, former TNCC
president, here today.
The ``anti-people'' policies of the State Government, the gross
interference in the functioning of the returning officers in the
four constituencies in which the nominations of the AIADMK chief,
Ms. Jayalalitha, were rejected, and the unholy alliance between
the ``fascist'' BJP and the DMK had created a strong ``anti-
pathy'' against the ruling party among the non- committed voters,
and this would tilt the scales in favour of the secular front.
In as much as the conviction against Ms. Jayalalitha had been
stayed she had not suffered any disqualification to contest the
election, and hence there would be no hurdle to her becoming
Chief Minister, when the secular front got a majority in the
polls, he said.
