People have accepted AGP-BJP combine, says Sushma
Guwahati, May 8. (PTI): Union Information and Broadcasting
Minister and senior BJP leader Sushma Swaraj today claimed the
people of Assam had accepted the AGP-BJP alliance despite the
anti-incumbency factor as they were confident that it would
provide a good government.
Swaraj told a press conference here that despite the anti-
incumbency factor the "people are not willing to allow the
Congress to come to power in the State" realising the alliance
would provide a better government than any other combine as it
would address the State's problems in a better way.
"The AGP-BJP alliance would be able to stop the division of the
anti-Congress votes in Assam," she said.
The perception that the AGP-BJP would be victorious was based on
response and enthusiasm of the electorate she had witnessed
during her election tour of the State, she added.
