Tirunelveli: 'MDMK will end caste clashes'

By Syed Muthahar

TIRUNELVELI, MAY 3. The MDMK general secretary, Mr. Vaiko, today assured that his party, if voted to power, would take steps to end caste and communal conflicts.

Addressing a series of meetings in support of the party candidates at Talayuthu, Tachanallur, Town, Palayapettai and Alangulam, Mr. Vaiko said that in its eight-year existence the MDMK never gave room for violence.

Both the DMK and the AIADMK had failed to live upto the expectations.

While the AIADMK chief, Ms. Jayalalitha, spoiled the good name and image of late MGR by providing a corrupt rule, the DMK rule only benefitted the family of the party chief, Mr. Karunanidhi, Mr. Vaiko charged.

Calling upon the people to give ``political power'' to the MDMK, he assured them that his party would not fail them. It would work for the overall progress of Tamil Nadu and make it a model State in the country.
