The week ahead

A CELESTIAL pattern that has been in motion since September 4, 2000 will reach its zenith on Sunday, May 6, when Jupiter and Pluto oppose each other and complete the electromagnetic dance they have been doing for the past eight months. Jupiter is the planet of truth and Pluto is the planet of deep, transformational experiences. Jupiter is in the sign of Gemini and Pluto is in Sagittarius, both signs of communication. The opposition of these two planets in these signs will bring to the surface the final remnants of a reality that has been trying to get your attention since the fall. Unacknowledged truths on a personal and global level will be revealed in abundance in the coming week. Get ready to speak the truth - and to listen!

Queries answered

The sub-period of Mercury in Rahu Maha Dasa is running for a Kanya Lagna native, whose Rasi is also Kanya. In Rasi chakra, Mercury is in Mithuna with the sun and Rahu is in Karkataka. What kind of effects may be expected now?

G. K. Sastry, Amalapuram-4

FOR Kanya Lagna, Mercury is lord of the First and the Tenth. In the position mentioned he is in a Kendra and in his own sign along with the sun. This combination produces Budha-Aditya Yoga. Details are lacking as to whether these planets are free from affliction, and do not receive the aspect of malefic planets.

Prima facie we can say this position is good. The native can display talents and skills, and see upliftment in business and professional activities.

For Kanya Rasi, Jupiter in Gochara now is in the favourable Ninth position from Moon Sign up to June 2001. Rahu in the 11th for Kanya Lagna, and especially in Kataka, may give benefits only.

Good dates: April 29 and May 4.
