EVM demonstration

PONDICHERRY, APRIL 23. The Department of Elections has installed
temporary shelters, to explain to the voters how to operate the
Electronic Voting machines (EVMs) for the May 10 Assembly polls.
This is the second time after the 1999 Lok Sabha poll the EVMs
are being used in an election in the union territory of
Pondicherry.
Mr. V. Siavashanmugham, Returning Officer for the constituencies
of Lawspet, Muthialpet, Cassicade and Rajbhavan said the
demonstration booths erected at the Taluk and Municipal Offices
in Vazhaikulam function from 9-30 a.m. to 12-30 p.m. and from 2-
30 p.m. to 5-30 p.m. every day till May 6 on all working days.
The booths erected in the Municipal office (Mairie building)
would function in addition to above timings from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and such arrangements had been
made in the Chief Secretariat premises as well from April 21 to
May 6.
