Nominations invited for Rajiv Gandhi Award

NEW DELHI, APRIL 23. Nominations have been invited for the `Rajiv Gandhi National Sadbhavana Award 2000' to be given for outstanding contributions made by an individual or an association to promote communal harmony, fight terrorism and violence.

The award carries Rs. 2.5 lakhs and a citation. It was instituted in the golden jubilee year of the `Quit India Movement' to commemorate the lasting contribution made by Rajiv Gandhi through his vision of a vibrant future, youthful dynamism and commitment to promote goodwill among all. The advisory committee has sought proposals which should be sent before May 31, in the prescribed proforma which could be obtained from the committee's New Delhi office.
