The task ahead
Sir, - In your Editorial, `Further into space' (April 20) you
have referred to the task ahead for the scientists, especially in
areas of indigenisation and in drawing the attention of the
masses to the advances in science. But, it is sad that the Prime
Minister was not allowed to make a statement on the GSLV launch
in the Rajya Sabha. However, Mr. Vajpayee's statesmanship saved
the situation. Ms. Sonia Gandhi's choice of the place and time
for claiming the Congress Government's share in the glory
appeared childish, if not wrong.
K. Vaithinathasamy,
Kumbakonam
