A test for the RSS
Sir, - I was happy to read the letter of the RSS spokesman (April
18) where he insists that the RSS is committed to ``extricating
Hindu society from the shackles of superstition.'' The proof of
the pudding is in eating. Let the RSS publicly call for the
withdrawal of astrology, vedic mathematics, etc. from being
introduced as subjects of study and reprimand Dr. Murli Manohar
Joshi, a RSS pracharak, for his archaic proposals. Or was the
letter merely for public posturing while the party encourages
obscurantism?
