Ex-Pondy speaker files papers

PONDICHERRY, APRIL 19. Mr. V. M. C. Sivakumar (DMK) former
speaker of Pondicherry, today filed nomination for the Neravy
Grande Aldee Assembly seat in Karaikal. Mr. K. Manivannan filed
papers as his dummy.
Mr. N. Balan (DMK), seeking election from Oulgaret in the
Pondicherry region, also filed his papers today. The others who
filed nominations are: Bussy - Mr.G.Dharmaraj (Bharath Christian
Party) and Mr. N. Kadiroli (MDMK); Embalam (reserved) - Mr. R.
Selvakumar (CPI-M.L Liberation) and Oulgaret - Mrs. R. Banu (CPI-
M.L)
Four independents also filed their papers in Yanam: Mr. Malladi
Krishna Rao, a former legislator, Mrs. Malladi Udhayalakshmi, Mr.
Elipe Rajkumar and M. Raksha Harikrishna.
So far 26 nominations (including that of a dummy candidate) have
been received ever since the poll process began on April 16.
