Illegal water drawal detected
By Our Staff Reporter
CHENNAI, APRIL 6. Consumers should inform Metrowater officials if
they come across instances of illegal tapping from water lines.
``A penalty of Rs. 10,000 will be levied on those who are drawing
water illegally, apart from disconnecting the service connection
for three months'', the Metrowater said on Friday. The identity
of those, who provide information on tapping, will be kept
confidential.
A release said that the Metrowater officials, during a recent
inspection in T.V.S.Colony of West Anna Nagar, detected illegal
water drawal at a home in the area. This was a sequel to
complaints received.
