We don't want to join arms race: PM
The Prime Minister, Mr, Atal Behari Vajpayee,
today asserted that India did not want to be part of the arms
race. If other countries who had nuclear arms agreed to stop
further manufacture and to destroy their arsenal, India would be
willing to do the same.
Retrial of case against Benazir ordered
The Pakistan Supreme Court today set aside
the verdict of a lower court against the former Prime Minister,
Ms. Benazir Bhutto, in a corruption case, and ordered a retrial.
Cong. (I) wants majority of seats in Pondy
The Congress(I) today reiterated that it
would not share power with the PMK in Pondicherry and indicated
that the Congress(I)-TMC combine would keep 20 seats and give the

A week after the Bharatiya Janata Party
president, Mr. Jana Krishnamurthi, had announced that a code of
ethics would soon be formulated for all party ``MPs, MLAs, and
elected representatives of the people at all levels'' the party
has changed its mind.

Pakistan's military ruler, Gen. Pervez
Musharraf, today said he would have no inhibitions in saluting

Devi Lal passes away

Alleged plot to kill Ranil
