Gowda, son receive threat
By Our Staff Reporter
BANGALORE, APRIL 5. The former Prime Minister, Mr. H.D. Deve
Gowda, and his son, Mr. H.D. Revanna, former Minister, have
received an anonymous letter which says that they will be
injected with the AIDS virus, according to the City police.
Banashankari police have registered a case based on the letter
which was passed on to them by Mr. Revanna through the Special
Protection Group (SPG).
Police said the case has been transferred to the Holenarsipura
Rural Police Station in Hassan District, the home district of Mr.
Gowda, for investigation.
Police said the letter threatened that Mr. Gowda and Mr. Revanna
would be killed by an AIDS virus injection for sending ``our
people'' to jail. The letter warned that the two would be
punished for their ``misdeeds'' while in power and for the
suffering caused to innocent people who were in jail because of
their ``misdeeds''.
