More suspects held for USS Cole attack
SANAA, APRIL 1. Yemen's police have arrested several new suspects
in the bombing of American warship USS Cole in which 17 U.S.
sailors were killed last year, a Yemeni official said.
The official said an unspecified number of suspects, believed to
be Islamic militants, were held in the southern port city of
Aden, site of the apparent suicide bombing which crippled the
U.S. destroyer in October last. ``They will be interrogated to
see if they were involved in the attack''.
Yemen had earlier arrested six suspects over the attack, some of
whom are reportedly Muslim militants. But officials have said the
main suspect has apparently fled to Afghanistan.
