IFFK: 100 films to be screened

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, MARCH 28. As many as 100 films from 40
countries will be exhibited at the Sixth Kerala International
Film Festival commencing here on March 30.
The New Theatre will be the main venue of the festival. It will
host the Open Forum on all days. Screening for delegates will be
held at the Kairali, Sree, Kalabhavan, Sreekumar, Ramya and
Tagore theatres. Public screenings will be held at the Nisagandhi
open air auditorium in the Kanakakunnu palace grounds.
An official pressnote issued here today said the directors of the
competing films, film critics and representatives of film
festivals would be guests. A package of French films depicting
the problems of women will be a highlight of the festival.
The Homage section will feature a photo exhibition on movie
artistes and the evolution of Malayalam film.
The festival will be inaugurated on March 30. Awards instituted
by the Festival and the State Government will be distributed at
the valedictory function on April 6.
