One held for sacrilege in Kolkata
KOLKATA, MARCH 27. There was tension at the Nakhoda Masjid here
after a man, suspected to be deranged, threw away a religious
book during the afternoon prayers, according to the police.
The Imam of the mosque, Maulana Mohammed Sabir, immediately
caught hold of the man and bundled him inside a room, as an
infuriated mob demanded that he be handed over to it, the sources
said.
The Imam pacified them and called the police. The man was
arrested immediately and was being interrogated.
