Engg./Medical entrance applications called for

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, MARCH 26. The Commissioner for Entrance
Examinations has invited applications for the entrance
examinations-2001 for admission to various engineering and
medical courses in the State.
The notification inviting applications under the NRI quota for
engineering and medical streams will be issued separately.
Details regarding eligibility criteria and other relevant
information for applying for the entrance examination are
contained in the prospectus issued by the Commissioner.
The schedule for the entrance examinations is as follows.
Engineering:
23-5-2001, 10 a.m. to 12 noon - Paper 1-Physics and Chemistry
24-5-2001, 10 a.m. to 12 noon - Paper 2-Mathematics
25-5-2001, 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. - Aptitude test for architecture.
Medical courses:
27-5-2001, 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. - Paper 1, Chemistry and Physics
28-5-2001, 10 a.m. to 12 noon - Paper 2, Biology.
There is only one common application form for both the entrance
examinations. The cost of the application is Rs. 500 plus Rs. 10
for handling charges. For SC/ST students, the cost will be Rs.
250 plus Rs. 10 handling charges. There is no separate fee for
the aptitude test for architecture. Those who wish to get the
application forms by post should remit Rs. 591 (general
candidates) and Rs. 341 (SC/ST students) by money order to the
head of the sales centre from where the candidate procured the
application. Money order will be accepted only 10 days prior to
the last date for receiving the applications. Only money order
will be accepted towards cost of the application.
The application form is accompanied by an original OMR data
sheet supplied in a separate printed envelope. Candidates should
ensure that the serial number printed in the application form and
in the original OMR sheet are the same.
The application form along with the OMR sheet should be sent in
the same printed envelope to `The Commissioner for Entrance
Examinations, Housing Board Buildings, Shanthi Nagar,
Thiruvananthapuram-695001 so as to reach the Commissioner's
office before 5-15 p.m. on April 30. Applications will be
accepted at the Commissioner's office on holidays too.
Delayed, incomplete or wrongly addressed applications will be
summarily rejected.

listed below.
